Patrick A. McKinney I, 74, of Belleville, Illinois, born on August 26, 1942 in Belleville, Illinois, passed away on June 11, 2017 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.

Mr. McKinney proudly served his country in the United States Army. He began his career as a sheetmetal worker and retired as a business manager for Local 268 after more than 40 years. Patrick was a member of the Mississippi Valley Duckhunter's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing, but his most precious moments were those spent with his family. Patrick A. McKinney I, 74, of Belleville, Illinois, born on August 26, 1942 in Belleville, Illinois, passed away on June 11, 2017 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.

Mr. McKinney proudly served his country in the United States Army. He began his career as a sheetmetal worker and retired as a business manager for Local 268 after more than 40 years. Patrick was a member of the Mississippi Valley Duckhunter's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing, but his most precious moments were those spent with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Lucille, nee Boswell, McKinney; his first wife, Kathryn McKinney; his brother, Jay McKinney; and one sister, Eileen Heidorn.

Surviving to cherish his memory is wife, Cecilia, nee Barnes; his son, Patrick A. McKinney II; his daughters, Cindy (Jay) Ohlendorf and Amy Bannick; his step-children, Kyle (Tanya) Smith and Jill (Chris) Doebber; eight grandchildren; his three sisters, Barbara Lindauer, Sue Aldrich and Kate Steigerwald; his longtime friend, Ed McClane; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow in Green Mount Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, Illinois.
