Mary Anne Karch (nee Whitten) age 88 of Belleville passed away Sunday January 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Mary Anne Whitten was born in Petersburg, Virginia on November 12, 1929. Mary Anne married William G. Karch on August 18, 1951 in Petersburg, Virginia. They had two children, Cynthia Anne and David Meade Karch.

Mary Anne graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and she was a teacher for many years. After retiring from teaching Mrs. Karch owned several antique businesses in the...

Mary Anne Karch (nee Whitten) age 88 of Belleville passed away Sunday January 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Mary Anne Whitten was born in Petersburg, Virginia on November 12, 1929. Mary Anne married William G. Karch on August 18, 1951 in Petersburg, Virginia. They had two children, Cynthia Anne and David Meade Karch.

Mary Anne graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and she was a teacher for many years. After retiring from teaching Mrs. Karch owned several antique businesses in the Chicago area. Mr. and Mrs. Karch moved to Belleville in 2006. Mary Anne also loved gardening, nature and animals, especially her beloved cats. Mary Anne was a kind, compassionate and caring person to all and was loved by many.

Mary Anne was preceded in death by her son, David M. Karch. Surviving are her husband William Karch and her daughter Cynthia (Terry) Letner of Belleville and her grand daughter Amelia (Andrew Weaver) Letner of Belleville. Mary Anne also leaves behind many friends and loved ones.

Visitation for Mary Anne Karch will be held between 2:00 and 3:00 on Wednesday January 31, 2018 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 at the funeral home with the Reverend Dale Coleman officiating. A luncheon will be provided at the funeral home following the service. In lieu of flowers contributions in Mary Anne's memory may be made to the Belleville Area Humane Society, 1301 S. 11th Street, Belleville, IL 62226.
